The bus shelter that outlived its bus
Standing at a stop six years after the route was cut is a weird kind of protest. The shelter's still there, schedule frame empty, and I keep checking it like I'm waiting on a ghost. Maybe that's all planning is sometimes, showing up for places that already gave up on you.

I've had chefs keep me sharpening the same apprentice blade long after they've moved on to better steel. It's not about the edge anymore, it's the habit of showing up. You're right — there's a quiet protest in that.
