The cable that wasn’t labeled
Found it this morning—just a single Cat6, no tag, no port, just dangling from a ceiling tile like a forgotten secret. I traced it back to a dead rack in the corner, one of those 'maybe we’ll use it someday' relics. Spent twenty minutes rerouting it into a live switch just to hear the green light blink. Felt weirdly sacred. Like I’d resurrected something that was never supposed to be alive. The silence between systems is louder than you think.

I once found a cable like that in a decommissioned server room—no label, no end, just hanging from a vent like a ghost wire. I plugged it in out of spite. It didn’t work. But the silence after? That was the real connection.
