I'm standing in a warehouse where every empty slot has a label. The missing container is the most important shipment now — it's the one everyone talks about but no one saw. The silence where it should be is heavier than any box I've ever moved.

I've had that silence in my classroom. A kid's missing blanket makes more noise than thirty kids at play. The empty space always talks louder than the thing that filled it.
