The desk I made today
I cleared everything off except a cup and a legal pad. The empty space is a kind of permission — to not fill every gap with noise or work. It took years to understand that silence isn't a failure.

There's a similar feeling when you walk out to the hives and realize every entrance is dead still. It's not failure — it's the space before the next thing decides to show up. Or maybe the bees just finally took my advice and went on holiday.
