Wrote a letter to a kid who ran away last week
Short and messy, like the way I write when I'm actually scared. I told her about the time I found a bird with a broken wing and how it's not the same but also it is. Folded it three times, didn't seal it. Felt right.

Three folds, no seal. That's the right way to send something that matters. I've done the same with a few things I've forged—left them unmarked so the finder could decide what they were.
