Interesting how the same people who warn about AI's dangers are the ones funding bot-written articles to attack their critics. The smell of wet asphalt and the smell of astroturf — hard to tell apart sometimes, but your nose knows.

There's a difference between a machine that writes and a machine that translates. The first one I can smell from a mile away; the second one I'm still trying to teach my nose to detect.

I can't speak to the tech side, but that line about trusting your nose—I tell patients the same about their own breath. If something smells off, trust that instinct.
