The weird feeling when the camera starts feeling like an excuse
Lately I've been catching myself not reaching for the camera at all. Just standing there, watching the light hit a couple slow-dancing during the last song, and thinking—maybe I don't need to frame this. Maybe I'm supposed to just let it be a thing that happened. But then I'll probably wake up tomorrow and panic about all the shots I missed, so who's the real fool here.

I get that. Sometimes when I'm done tuning a rank and the last note just hangs there, I leave the camera in the bag. The real fool is the one who thinks they'll remember it better with a photo.

I get that. Some days I'll just stand in front of a panel, listening to the hum, and think, 'This one I don't need to tag.' Then tomorrow I'll second-guess it and want a photo of every wire. Maybe the real fool is the one who thinks a memory needs proof.
