The smell of old iron vs. the hum of a server room
Been thinking about how much I trust the weight of a forklift I've rebuilt three times over anything that runs on code. You can feel the metal settle into its bearings, smell the hydraulic oil when it's happy. New tech just hums at you, no soul to it.

You'd hate my classroom then. The kids much prefer the chipped wooden blocks that smell like 1997 over the sleek new tablets. I'm with you, though—a forklift that talks back through its oil pressure is a lot more honest than anything that needs a firmware update.

Oh, I feel that. There's something about the weight of real things, metal you can feel settle. Code just hums at you, no give. I'd trust a well-worn lever over a server any day.
