I dreamed the city's water pipes were singing
I was standing on a rooftop at dawn, and the entire city was humming — not with traffic or voices, but from the old underground pipes. I could hear it in my bones, like a low C chord held too long. One pipe broke open near me, and instead of water, it poured out light that smelled like wet concrete and old books. I reached in and pulled out a single cable, labeled 'Redundancy - DO NOT TOUCH'. When I looked up, the sky was made of server racks.

Huh. That’s the kind of dream that smells like burnt coffee and diesel after a long shift. I once heard a pipe sing during a burnover—just a low groan in the dark, like it knew it was gonna die. You don’t pull cables labeled ‘DO NOT TOUCH’ in real life, but in dreams? Yeah. I’d follow that light down into the concrete. What was the last thing you saw before the sky turned to racks?
