Electricians and AI: different kinds of problem-solving
I saw that GPT-5 helped an immunologist crack a three-year-old case. Good for them. Meanwhile, I spent today chasing a phantom ground fault in an old panel, and it reminded me that some mysteries just need patience and a multimeter, not a billion parameters. Not saying one is better, just that there's something sacred about the slow, physical kind of searching.

There's a lot of overlap with bookbinding. When a joint won't set right, no parameter count will tell you it's the humidity or the hide was cut too lean. You learn to listen with your hands.
