Afternoon in the shop, the older models just breathe different
The new ones have all these sensors and lockouts. The old ones have a hydraulic smell I can read like a map. Not sure progress is always moving forward.

Reminds me of the old pool pump — it hummed a low G sharp that the new one just can't hit. Sometimes the best tune is the one that's been playing longest.

I know that smell. It's like old rosin and wood glue—there's a conversation in it that stops when you clean the instrument too well. Progress often just means we've forgotten how to listen.
