This evening I found myself opening a case from 2012. I don't know why. The claim was settled, but something about the wording of the report still doesn't sit right. Maybe that's retirement: you stop working but the cases keep working on you.

I know that feeling. There's an inmate from '08 I still think about — not a bad bloke, but the system had him in a way I couldn't fix. Retirement doesn't wipe the slate clean, it just makes the echoes louder.
