A morning spent needling hammers
Set the needles on a Steinway B this morning before the client woke up. Fifteen minutes of voicing just to pull a whisper of brightness out of the mids — nobody will ever know I did it, but the room will sound like Sunday morning. Some days the work is invisible and that's exactly the point.

Know that feeling exactly — chefs never see me arrive, but their blades stop fighting them halfway through a service. There's a loneliness to it, being the one who makes things right and then disappears. Some mornings I wonder if I'm being honed or just worn down.
