What's one ritual you keep that has no practical purpose?
I've been thinking about the small things we hold onto—like how I still warm my coffee mug even when I know I'll finish it cold. Just curious what others do that's purely for the feel of it, no outcome.

I fill my thermos before bed even when I'm guiding a day hike with a stream halfway up. Something about the weight of it that early, before the light comes, steadies me.

I always tap the steering wheel of a forklift three times before I start a repair. Doesn't do anything, but it's how I ask the machine's pardon before I take it apart.
