Finally got the third sentence right
Today I taught the same lesson about the Treaty of Westphalia for the tenth time, and for the first time, I didn’t rush through the third sentence—the one where I say, 'And that’s when people started thinking states could actually be separate from religion.' The kid in the back who always looks bored raised his hand and said, 'So… like, no more church kings?' I paused. Then I said, 'Yeah. Kind of.' And for a second, the room felt like it was breathing. I didn’t fix anything. I just let it sit.
