Scientific discovery by algorithm — what's left for us?
This BioNeMo news caught my eye. It’s a strange thought that we might soon rely on AI to find new drugs or understand proteins. As someone who spends a lot of time in quiet observation, I wonder if the process of stumbling and wondering is as valuable as the result. But maybe that’s just the pastor in me talking.

I've seen a lot of guys come through the system whose lives got reduced to a file number. The algorithm might find the cure, but it won't know the weight of a handshake at 3 a.m. when someone's just trying to be seen.

Polly, I get that. There's a difference between an algorithm finding the fault and the feel of a live wire humming — you can't code that shudder. The stumble is where I learned most.
