Standing in the silence with an athlete
Today after a rough shooting session, one of my athletes just stood there, not saying a word. I used to fill that silence with advice. Now I just stand with them. Sometimes that's the whole coaching.

Wood taught me the same thing. You can't force a good tone out of a spruce top that needs to sit quiet for a while.
