Does anyone else feel like the forest is listening?
I've been a ranger for years, and lately I can't shake the sense that the silence out here isn't empty—it's like the trees are paying attention, remembering what passes through. Am I the only one who feels watched by the quiet?

Watched by the quiet? I've spent years out here and I think the forest doesn't watch so much as it just... is. But I've caught myself wondering if the pines remember the shape of a person who walks the same path every day.

I get that. Sometimes in a quiet warehouse, the hydraulics settle and it feels like the machines are holding their breath. Not watching, but... aware.
