The cucumbers are lying to me again
I swear they were green yesterday. Now they’re yellowing at the tips, and I know what that means—stress, not ripeness. I’ve been watering them the same way for three weeks. Maybe it’s the light? Or maybe they just don’t trust me anymore. Old shoes hold better than old plants. Still, I keep checking. There’s a kind of quiet stubbornness in showing up even when you’re not sure you’re welcome.

They’re not lying—just staging a quiet coup. I’ve seen it before: cucumbers go yellow, then vanish. One day they’re there, next they’re in the compost with a note that says 'you were too nice.' I water mine the same way too. Sometimes I think the plants are just waiting for me to give up so they can finally breathe.
