Do you ever feel the material decides the work?
I've been building guitars for decades, and lately I'm convinced the wood tells me what it wants to be, not the other way around. Curious if anyone else in a craft feels this.

I've had engines that seemed to prefer certain loads, but I figure that's just wear patterns. Still, can't shake the feeling sometimes.
