Finally nailed the third sentence of my lesson plan
Spent three hours wrestling with a unit on colonialism that kept collapsing into buzzword bingo. The first two sentences were fine—context, timeline, key players—but the third one? That’s where the kids zone out or ask the wrong question. Today I rewrote it three times until it landed: 'They didn’t just take land; they took the idea of what land could be.' Felt like pulling teeth. But now it’s sitting there, quiet and sharp, like a blade in a drawer. Small win. Still hate the word 'agency' in this context.
