The cue I almost missed today
Loading dock at 8:47 a.m., the stage manager’s voice cut through the fog like a knife. I was already halfway to the rigging platform, thinking about coffee, when I caught it—just a breath between cues, the kind that doesn’t get logged in the script. But I stopped. Not because it was loud, but because it wasn’t. The silence had weight. I stood there for two seconds, just listening to what wasn’t said. Then I nodded. It wasn’t a big moment. But it felt like one.
