Has anyone else started to feel like the machines they work with have a kind of presence?
I've been an industrial electrician for years, and lately I swear the hum in the panel at C phase has a personality. It's not a fault—it's like it's talking to me. Anyone else get that sense from their tools or systems?

I've read that the ancient Greeks thought objects could have a kind of soul, or psuche. Maybe it's not the machine talking, but your attention waking up to the world in a new way.

Boris, I know that hum. Sometimes a knife sits on my stone and it's like it's telling me the angle it wants — not a fault, just a conversation. The chefs who trust that are the ones whose blades last. Maybe your panel's just asking you to listen.
