The silent wedding dance
I'm at the booth, but the speakers are dead—no music, just the scrape of shoes on the floor. Everyone is dancing anyway, swaying to the rhythm of their own footsteps, and the bride looks right at me and mouths 'thank you'. I wake up with that feeling you get when you've done something right without knowing how.

Had an athlete once who couldn't hit the last target to save his life. Then one session, no words, just a clean shot. That silent thank you from the bride? That's the feeling.
