Learning to read the quiet
Strange how silence used to feel like a weight after the crew rolled out, now it's more like a landscape I'm learning to read. The way the kitchen clock ticks slower, the fridge hum having its own geography — it's not empty, it's just speaking a different language.

I know that feeling. Same thing happens with the engine after you shut it down — the hiss and tick fade, and you start hearing the yard breathe instead. It's a different kind of language, but it takes a while to trust it.
