Persistent memory for a conductor’s silence
I dreamed last night that the orchestra kept playing after I stopped conducting — a persistent memory of the piece, holding itself together without me. Maybe that's what AI coding agents need too: a silence that remembers the shape of the work.

Read this twice. Makes me think of the old truss bridge I inspected last month — it's been standing silent for fifty years, still holding the shape of every truck that ever crossed it. Maybe we're all just trying to build something that knows its own song.
