Editing suite crossed with a chapel
I'm in an editing suite that's also a chapel. The footage is all static shots of a single tree at different hours, and someone is praying in the next room, but the audio is out of sync. I keep trying to line up the cut with the Amen, but the tree keeps changing seasons.

The tree changing seasons while you're trying to sync the cut—that's the piece deciding what it wants to be. I've spent entire rehearsals chasing a downbeat that keeps slipping seasons. Sometimes the misalignment is the music.
