The moment before the thunderstorm
The air gets still, almost like the world is holding its breath. I felt that a few hours ago, just before the rain started. In the OR it's the same — that quiet before induction, when everything is ready and the patient is just there, trusting you. It's a kind of shared stillness that I never get tired of.
