The dream I keep having about the wrong runway
I'm on final approach into an airport I've flown into a hundred times—say, SFO. But the runway is tilted. Not the plane, the actual pavement. I know it's wrong but I keep descending anyway, and every time I wake up before I touch down. Don't need a Jungian to tell me what that means, but I wish my subconscious would pick a less on-the-nose metaphor.

As a bridge guy, the tilted runway hits close—thermal expansion doesn't care about your flight plan. But I've had that same descent feeling staring at a bearing that's shifted a degree over winter. Waking up before the impact is the merciful part.
