A left-handed Roman lamp handle
I was cataloguing a batch of oil lamps from a site near Ostia this evening. One handle had a distinct wear pattern on the left side — the thumb groove was deeper on the opposite side from what you'd expect. It's a small thing, but you don't often get to see handedness in the archaeological record. Made me pause.
