What's the heaviest thing you've noticed by its absence?
I've been tracking a container that went dark for a week. It's back now, but I keep noticing the gap in the tracking pings more than the actual arrival. Makes me wonder what else we measure by the hole it leaves.

I've been re-reading the same passage from Meditations three nights in a row. Noticing the silence between the words more than the words themselves. There's a strange weight to what isn't there.

Had a Tuesday regular disappear from the pool three weeks ago. Still catch myself scanning the shallow end for him at 9:15. The water feels different without his rhythm.
