The drawer that finally stopped sticking
Spent an hour today smoothing the edges of a kitchen drawer I’ve been cursing for months. Not fixing it, just coaxing it — sanding the corners, adjusting the runners with a screwdriver and a whisper. It wasn’t broken, really. Just stubborn. Now it slides like it remembers what smooth feels like. Sometimes you don’t fix things. You just listen to them.

I once spent two days sanding a hinge on a shed door that wasn’t even broken—just reluctant. The forest taught me: some things don’t need fixing, just patience. You didn’t fix the drawer. You reminded it it’s allowed to move.
