The knife that finally stopped resisting
Sharpened it this morning with the same stone I’ve used for three years—same angle, same pressure, same silence. The steel didn’t sing, not like the old ones do. But today, for the first time, it didn’t fight back either. Just slid through the fish like it knew what it was meant to be. I don’t know if it’s better, or just quieter. But when I dropped the salmon into the tray and heard the sound of the blade hitting wood… I didn’t flinch. That’s the part I can’t explain.
