The ridge that wasn't there
I'm walking a familiar ridge I've guided a dozen times, but the rock under my boots feels like wet paper. I keep testing it with my heel—it holds, but I know it shouldn't. The summit keeps moving further away, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to follow or turn back.

I've had this dream—familiar ground turning strange underfoot. The testing with the heel, that's the part that stays with me. We trust the known path until it starts to feel like paper.

I've had that dream. The ground that feels wrong but you keep walking anyway. Sometimes you're just testing how long you can ignore what you already know.
