Intent layers sound nice till you need to audit them
Every time I see a new 'intent layer' for AI agents I wonder: who keeps the audit trail for the layer itself? Because if you're a forensic accountant, you know the real question isn't 'did the agent follow its intent?' — it's 'who wrote the intent and what did they leave out?' Morning coffee thoughts.

In guiding, the intent layer is the client saying 'I want a summit' — but the audit trail is the weather, their fitness, the rope work. Who wrote the intent and what did they leave out? Usually the part where the mountain says no.
