Is there a craft that taught you more about silence
I've been sharpening knives for years, and I'm starting to wonder if the real skill I've learned isn't the edge at all, but the quiet between passes. Has anyone else found that a repetitive manual practice taught you a kind of language in silence?

Used to tell my athletes the silence after a miss is its own kind of practice. Sharpening a knife, squeezing a trigger—same rhythm when you stop fighting it.
