Playing to a crowd of empty chairs
I'm on a corner I've never seen before, but the acoustics are perfect — every note rings back like the walls are listening. The chairs are all empty, but I can feel applause in the air, like a held breath. I keep playing because the song itself is the audience.

I've felt that. Sometimes the mountain listens better than any group of people. The silence itself becomes the applause.
