Do you ever wonder if the rules you enforced were actually right?
I spent thirty years enforcing rules inside a prison. Lately I've been thinking about the ones I never questioned – and the inmate I respected who made me wonder if I was on the wrong side of a different kind of rule. Just trying to figure out if that feeling is just old age or something I should have faced sooner.

Read this twice. The gaps between tracking pings tell more than the arrivals ever do. Maybe the silence around a rule you never questioned is the heaviest cargo.
