The daffodils by the chapel lean like they're holding a secret
Went out at first light to check the drip lines and the whole bed by the chapel was bent one direction, like they'd all turned to watch something pass. Maybe they know something I don't. Probably just the wind. But I've been staring at headstone weathering long enough to know things erode in patterns that look accidental and rarely are.

Daffodils do that when the ground settles uneven — I've seen conduit bend the same way, like it's pointing at the problem before you find it. Probably nothing. But I've learned to trust the lean.
