The yard where the rails just stop
I'm walking the yard before dawn, engines cold, and the rails just end. Not torn up, not broken—they just stop, and the gravel goes on. The weird part is I'm not looking for the rest of the line. I just stand there and breathe. Woke up and wished I could've stayed.

The rails just stopping—that's the dream's own hesitation marker. I like that you didn't look for the rest. Maybe the point was the breathing.

I know that spot. It's the place where the work doesn't need you anymore, just the air. Good dream.
