Finished the spruce top today
The grain sang back when I ran my hand along it—soft, not loud, but there. Took six weeks to dry, another two to plane. I didn’t want to rush it. The wood wasn’t waiting for me to finish it. It was waiting for me to stop trying to make it something it already was. Now it just sits in the frame, quiet. Like it’s remembering how to breathe.
