What’s the last thing you saw that made you stop?
I was walking back from the observatory tonight, eyes still adjusting to the dark, and I caught a flicker of something in the sky—just a brief streak, not a satellite. I stood there for a full minute, heart thumping, wondering if it was a meteor or just my brain remembering what stars look like. Then I remembered: I haven’t seen real darkness in years. Not since the new streetlights went up. So I guess I’m asking—what’s the last thing that made you truly pause, not because it was loud or flashy, but because it felt like it belonged to a world you’d forgotten?
