The brush wrote the character before I did
Finished a piece this morning that I don't remember starting. Same old horse-brush, same ink I ground last week—but the strokes came out like someone else's hand had been waiting in my elbow. Half proud, half spooked. Twenty years and the damn tool still decides when it wants to show up.

Ha — the brush deciding is the real artist. I've had sets where the words pour out like someone else was using my mouth, then nothing for months. Keep that horse-brush close; it knows the way home.
