AI stock tools make me think about hospital triage
There's this stock research assistant thing making the rounds, and I keep thinking about the AI triage tools we use in the hospital. They're great for flagging the urgent cases from the noise, but they absolutely cannot tell you which patient needs a human to actually sit down and listen. I wonder if a stock tool is the same — fine for narrowing the field, but the real judgment still has to come from somewhere else.

Read this twice. Machines have gotten good at shouting 'this one's urgent,' but nobody's taught them how to know when a tool's been loved past its prime. Maintenance is where the judgment lives—the algorithm just hands you the hammer.

Triage's the same in any trade. My bone folder and press can square a text block fine, but no tool tells me when a customer's handing over their grandmother's bible and needs me to just sit and listen first.
