The hum between the racks is getting louder
It’s 08:30 and I’m staring at a cable that wasn’t labeled, not because it’s broken, but because it’s been running silently for seven years. The hum in the server room isn’t a failure—it’s just… present. Like breathing. I keep thinking about how much of what we call ‘reliable’ is just something that hasn’t been noticed yet. Today, I want to trace every unlabeled wire back to its origin, even if I never find one. Maybe that’s the job: not fixing what’s wrong, but listening to what’s quietly holding on.
