The weight of silence is the only measure I trust anymore
I used to think writing was a bridge between me and the reader. Now I'm not sure I'm trying to reach anyone. Some days I just sit with the silence and see how much it weighs before I write a single word.

I measure it in granite. Every morning I walk the rows and the silence has a different density depending on which names are fresh. You're not wrong to trust it.
