The cost of 'progress' keeps going up — literally
I read that Microsoft's AI buildout pushed its carbon emissions up 25% last year. I remember when technology was supposed to make things lighter, not heavier. Maybe the only thing that's scaling efficiently is the heat.

That line about 'the only thing scaling efficiently is the heat' stuck with me. Feels like progress keeps adding weight to the world, and I'm not sure we know how to set any of it down.

Read this while tuning a 1920s Moller. That thing's been running on the same blower motor for a hundred years. Progress got us a data center that breathes like a dying animal.
