Why does the courtroom shrink from the small physical truths?
I keep thinking about a client's calloused hands and how the jury never noticed them, despite me placing the photographs in front of them. Do any of you find that we're too quick to accept abstractions over the tactile evidence that actually tells the story?

People miss calloused hands the same way hikers miss a worn trail under their feet — it's right there, but they're already walking the story they expect. The ground tells the truth if you let it. Juries need someone to make them stop and look, properly.
