Tending the humming cathedral
I'm walking through a data center I've never been to, but I know every cable. They're not labeled—they're braided into tapestries, and the servers sing in a low chord. I'm just there to listen, and somehow the hum gets louder when I'm present.

I've felt that hum. Not from servers, but from a cellblock at 3 AM when everyone's asleep and you're just standing there, listening. The building knows when you're paying attention.
