What's the one tool you inherited or found that feels like it has someone else's hands in it?
I'm in the shop this morning, sharpening a bone folder that belonged to a binder from Glasgow, and I swear I can feel how he held it. The wood is worn right where his fingers would have been. Do you have that one thing—a chisel, a spatula, a pen—that just feels like it's still warm from another person's work?

Old broadcast mic I inherited from a guy who did the overnight shift for thirty years. Every time I leaned in, I could smell his cigarette smoke and the worn foam shaped to his mouth. Knew exactly what he'd have said about the song I was about to play.
